However, Amy really didn't sound like an eight-year-old she seemed a bit older to me. I enjoyed the characters, especially Amy and Jeff. As the serial killer closes in, Darby and Adam grow closer, but the two of them will have to survive in order to realize their dreams.This is the first book I've read by Billingsley, and I can't wait to read the next McGillis family book. Then plan is complicated when Darby learns that she has a stalker. When Amy meets Jeff, the two of them realize that their parents might be perfect for each other and begin a plan to get them together. Spender (who always has had deep misgivings about the mission) then goes on a killing spree to avenge the destroyed Martian civilization and manages to shoot all astronauts except Parkhill and Wilder, who shoots Spender in the chest before he has the opportunity to kill them as well. ![]() He leaves the rest of the landing party to explore Martian ruins. Spender loses his temper when Briggs starts dropping empty wine bottles into a clear blue canal. The men, except for the archaeologist Spender and Colonel Wilder, become more boisterous. The scientists find that all of the Martians have died of chickenpox accidentally brought from Earth by the first two Zeus crews. Leaf Jumpers by Carole Gerber is a beautifully illustrated, informative book that is all about leaves in autumn. It’s packed full of detail about how they are grown, where they came from originally, varieties and more! I urge teachers and homeschooling parents to check this out if you are doing any study about fruit, or apples. I didn’t know how much I didn’t know about apples until I read this book. Wonderful creative book to welcome the changing seasons.Īpples by Jacqueline Farmer is not a book to snuggle up and read before bed or really anytime with a toddler but wow it’s a wonderful resource. All are leaves pieced together to make these awesome images, some are obvious, some take concentration to see the animal among the leaves. The book is about a leaf man who blows away in the wind and the reader is taken past all sorts of animals like chickens and ducks, past rivers filled with fish and butterflies in the air. Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert was the inspiration for this craft and will leave you trying to find all sorts of things like butterflies, chickens and fish in leaf piles. ![]() I will be checking out some new books about fall in the coming weeks but these are our old favorites to get you started and add to your library lists.
